Xiamen, China-9 October, 2022-Akuvox, the global leading provider of smart intercom and smart home products and solutions, announces its E16 smart door phone has been proven to be fully interoperable with the smart locks of Qrio, an IoT enterprise in the SONY Group specializing in product development and service with a focus on smart locks.

The compatibility makes it easy for systems integrators and installers to deploy Akuvox E16 with Qrio smart locks, combing the intercom features with the lock technology, which meets the rising demand for higher security and greater convenience in residential buildings.

 

The integration is achieved through the connection between the Akuvox cloud and the Qrio cloud. Once a user is authenticated by the E16 door phone, the signal will be sent to the Akuvox cloud via LAN and then delivered to the Qrio cloud, finally triggering Qrio smart locks to release the door. Real-time lock/unlock history can be recorded in the Qrio Hub.

The Akuvox smart intercom system and Qrio smart lock system work jointly to create a seamless entry experience for users. The compatibility enables residents to unlock Qrio smart locks through various access methods provided by E16. The E16 door phone supports traditional PIN codes and RFID cards, advanced mobile credentials like NFC, BLE, and QR code, as well as a biometric authentication method -- face recognition. For example, residents can issue time-limited QR codes that allow guests or visitors to scan at E16 to get door entry. As a result, it can free residents from the bother of opening the door in person and the visitor can have quick access without waiting. Moreover, the integration between E16 with Qrio smart locks brings building security to a higher level by allowing residents to confirm visitors’ identities through crystal clear video communication.
